Our individual membership categories target business professionals, arts consultants and supporters who desire to join with the region's arts managers in our programming.

Organization Membership - Arts and Culture

Annual membership dues are based on your organization's operating budget as defined as one of these five categories of membership: Emerging, Small, Mid-Size, Large, and Giant.

Membership is open to all 501(c)(3) arts organizations throughout Greater Washington DC. Your membership is for one year from the time of your approved application. Applications maybe submitted any time during the year. Be sure to check the benefits offered at each level of membership.

Emerging Arts Organization $200 Budgets up to $100,000
Emerging Arts Organization $450 Budgets $100,001-$500,000
House Museum $500
Small Arts Organization $900 Budgets $500,001 - $1.5MM
Mid-size Arts Organization $1,600 Budgets $1,500,001 - $5MM
Large Organization $3,000 Budgets $5,000,001 - $19MM
Giant Arts Organization $8,000 Budgets $19MM and up


Emerging Arts Organization - Budget up to $100,000

Annual Dues $200 benefits are as follows:
  • TICKETPLACE - Place half-price day of show and advance tickets at booth and online
  • Business Volunteers for the Arts - Receive pro bono professional services one (1) project annually
  • Arts Marketing Workshops - Scholarship to attend one (1) workshop, valued at $50 or less
  • Arts Management Workshops - Scholarship to attend one (1) workshop, valued at $50 or less
  • CultureCapital.com - Ability to submit events to the site, must register with appropriate arts council or commission
  • Member Receptions - two (2) passes valued at $10 each
  • Member Discounts from preferred vendors
  • Professional Development workshops and special events at member rate
  • CAGW Enews - Subscription to arts leaders designated by organization

Supporter Membership

Annual Dues $100

Supporter Membership provides artists, arts management consultants, patrons and business professionals a way to network with the region's arts and culture community and provide support to the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington. Your membership is for one year from the time of your approved application. Applications may be submitted any time during the year. Supporter Membership Benefits:

  • Subscription to the monthly Enews
  • Invitations to Special Events at member price
  • Invitation to the Annual Meeting
  • Member Discount and offers from Preferred Vendors
  • $100 of the membership dues is a tax deductable donation to the Cultural Alliance

Professional Membership

Annual Dues $300

The Professional Membership provides opportunities for arts and business professionals to join with the region's arts managers in our programming. Your membership is for one year from the time of your approved application. Applications may be submitted any time during the year. Annual membership benefits:

Business Volunteer for the Arts Consultants

Annual Dues $95

The Business Volunteers for the Arts®/Washington program recruits business professionals to work as volunteer management consultants with Greater DC region's emerging, small and mid-sized nonprofit arts and cultural organizations in the areas of marketing, human resources, accounting/finance and organizational development.

To become a Business Volunteer for the Arts Consultant member, send your resume or C.V. to the Business Volunteers for the Arts Program Director. Membership is for one year from the time of your approved application. Applications are taken any time during the year. Annual membership includes:

  • Opportunities to engage in pro-bono consulting projects with the region's emerging, small, and mid-sized arts organizations
  • One (1) ticket to the annual Arts & Business Celebration
  • Complimentary tickets to performances at area venues throughout the year
  • Complimentary admission to special Cultural Alliance member receptions held throughout the year
  • Subscription to the monthly Enews
  • Invitation to the Annual Meeting
  • Invitations to Special Events at member price
