Marketing the Arts

TICKETPLACE
TICKETPLACE provides Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington member organizations an outlet to sell half-price tickets to the public. Half-price day of show tickets can be sold at the TICKETPLACE booth and online at TICKETPLACE.org. Half-price advance sale tickets can be sold at the TICKETPLACE booth only. The Cultural Alliance returns to the member the full 50% of the face value of each ticket sold. The buyer pays all service charges.

CultureCapital.com
CultureCapital.com is THE online calendar promoting arts and culture events in the District of Columbia, northern Virginia, and suburban Maryland. Listing events on CultureCapital.com is easy, provided your organization is either a member of CAGW and part of the marketing partnership, or has been designated a contributor to the marketing partnership by your local arts council or arts commission. Once you have joined the marketing partnership and paid your fees, you will receive a password upon which you may begin submitting as many events as you wish through the "Submit an event" section of the site.

The Arts Show & Tell(sm)
Television promotion is within your reach with The Arts Show & Tell(sm), a 30-minute program airing on community television stations throughout the Washington metropolitan region that showcases Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington member organizations.

Through a generous partnership, Double R Productions and Arlington Independent Media provide experienced, pro-bono producers and production staff to your organization to create your Arts Show & Tell segment. Each 12-minute segment is designed to inform viewers about your organization's mission and encourage them to become patrons. Two segments are bridged together to form one program. Six Arts Show & Tell segments focusing on six different organizations are produced annually. Participating organizations receive a dub of their segment that they can use for internal/external promotion of the organization.


Professional Development

Arts Management Workshops (AMWs)
Presented by professionals who are leaders in their fields, Arts Management Workshops offer in-depth learning experiences that focus on topics such as accounting and finance, development/fundraising, Board development, program evaluation, and law.

National Arts Marketing Project (NAMP)

Marketing. The Tools of the Trade. is a series of workshops offering arts professionals the latest marketing and audience development techniques. These workshops are sponsored by the American Express National Arts Marketing Project through Americans for the Arts.


Services

JOB Bank Online
JOB Bank Online is a FREE service with job opportunities in arts administration submitted by the regions nonprofit arts organizations and cultural institutions. The JOB Bank is updated daily, Monday thru Friday and requires no password for the employer or the job seeker.

Business Volunteers for the Arts®/Washington
Business Volunteers for the Arts (BVA) is a two pronged program serving CAGW's small member organizations and the business community at large. Business Volunteers for the Arts Projects.

Emerging and small arts organizations can apply to receive assistance, through a pro bono consultancy, in the areas of accounting/finance, marketing/advertising, information technology, human resources, Board development and strategic planning. Apply for BVA services.

Professionals who become Business Volunteers for the Arts consultants are trained in nonprofit management and then placed on defined pro bono engagements that enable emerging and small arts organizations to strengthen their management and build a foundation for future advancement. CAGW Healthcare Program
The CAGW Healthcare Program is open to all individual and organization members. It includes medical, dental, vision and other coverages.

Member Discounts

Members of the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington are entitled to discounts on products and services from Cultural Alliance partners.

This study provides compelling evidence that the nonprofit arts and culture are a $2.15-billion industry in Greater Washington – one that supports 45,175 full-time equivalent jobs and generates $163.78 million in local and state government revenue.
