Marketing the Arts

CultureCapital.com
Introduced in June 2008, CultureCapital.com connects people to the heart of the thriving arts and culture community in the Greater Washington, DC region. This virtual marketplace provides comprehensive information and reliable ticket-purchase options for shows, performances, classes and exhibitions offered by more than 300 regional arts organizations and cultural institutions, making it the region's richest and most diverse collection of arts and culture activities. CultureCapital.com strives to be inclusive and includes big names and emerging groups alike, giving users access to all the hot hits and hidden jewels the DC region has to offer.

CultureCapital.com participants are members of the CAGW and are part of the marketing partnership established to promote the site or, are emerging organizations who are designated as participants by their local arts council or arts commission. To find out more click here.

TICKETPLACE
CAGW members can sell half-price tickets to the public at TICKETPLACE. The CAGW returns the full 50% face value of each ticket sold to the presenter. The buyer pays a service fee.

The Arts Show & Tell(sm)
Television promotion is within your reach with The Arts Show & Tell(sm), a 30-minute program airing on community television stations throughout the Washington metropolitan region that showcases Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington member organizations.

Through a generous partnership, Double R Productions and Arlington Independent Media provide experienced, pro-bono producers and production staff to your organization to create your Arts Show & Tell segment. Each 12-minute segment is designed to inform viewers about your organization's mission and encourage them to become patrons. Two segments are bridged together to form one program. Six Arts Show & Tell segments focusing on six different organizations are produced annually. Participating organizations receive a dub of their segment that they can use for internal/external promotion of the organization.


Professional Development

Arts Management Workshops (AMWs)
Presented by professionals who are leaders in their fields, Arts Management Workshops offer in-depth learning experiences that focus on topics such as accounting and finance, development/fundraising, human resources, Board development, program evaluation, and law.

National Arts Marketing Project (NAMP)

Marketing. The Tools of the Trade. is a series of workshops offering arts professionals the latest marketing and audience development techniques. These workshops are sponsored by the American Express National Arts Marketing Project through Americans for the Arts.


Services

JOB Bank Online
JOB Bank Online is a FREE service with job opportunities in arts administration submitted by the regions nonprofit arts organizations and cultural institutions. The JOB Bank is updated daily, Monday thru Friday and requires no password for the employer or the job seeker.

Business Volunteers for the Arts®/Washington
Business Volunteers for the Arts (BVA) is a two pronged program serving CAGW's emerging, small and mid-size member organizations and the business community at large. Business Volunteers for the Arts Projects.

Organizations who are members in good standing within the emerging, small and mid-size budget ranges can apply to receive assistance, through a pro bono consultancy, in the areas of accounting/finance, marketing/advertising, information technology, human resources, Board development and strategic planning. Apply for BVA services.

Professionals who become Business Volunteers for the Arts consultants are trained in nonprofit management and then placed on defined pro bono engagements that enable emerging and small arts organizations to strengthen their management and build a foundation for future advancement.
