On May 1, 2008, CultureCapital.com becomes THE online guide to promoting arts and culture events in the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland. CultureCapital.com is produced by the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington and is supported by The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation, The Marpat Foundation, Inc., and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.

LISTING EVENTS ON CultureCapital.com

Listing events on CultureCapital.com is easy, provided your organization is either a member of the Cultural Alliance and part of the marketing partnership, or been designated a contributor to the marketing partnership by your local arts council or arts commission. Once you have joined the marketing partnership you will receive a password with which you may begin submitting as many events as you wish through the Submit an Event section of the site or, in the case of larger organizations, through bulk event uploads.

PROMOTION CultureCaptial.com

With the intention of raising awareness of the site and generating ticket sales for partners, CultureCapital.com is promoted via a media buy with washingtonpost.com that is designed to deliver almost 65 million impressions annually. The media buy is funded by the CultureCapital.com marketing partnership. The washingtonpost.com reaches 1.3 million adults (or 38% of the market) in the Washington DMA, of which over 985,000 adults have attended a cultural event in the last year (Source: Scarborough Research, Release 1 2007). As new members come into the partnership, we will include other media outlets in the buy.

JOINING THE CultureCapital.com MARKETING PARTNERSHIP

Depending on member operating budgets per their 990 listing in Guidestar, organizations will initially join the marketing partnership at the following levels with benefits as outlined.
